FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS…
What’s the difference between Life Coaching and Counseling/Therapy? The easiest way to think about the difference is using the illustration of a whether you feel like you’re stuck hole or trying to climb a mountain.* The “hole” represents emotional or mental medical conditions from the past or present that are holding you captive. These kinds of situations are where good therapists and counselors are needed. At Reiso Resources, Ryan Osier, Ph.d is licensed, certified, trained and able to assist you with those situations.
But, what if you’re ready to climb a mountain? Do you have goals in life OR do you need some new goals for your life? I can help! If you are trying to discover your purpose or need support to move toward your dream, I’ll help you pick your target, plan your next steps as well as coach you along the way. We’ll attack the issues and obstacles that rise up together in order to help you get to your personal goals.
How long will I need coaching? Each session is 1 – 1/2 hours long. Most clients are seen two to three times a month in the beginning, then, as time goes on, less frequently. The number of sessions depends on what your current needs are.
The length of time a client is in sessions depends on the nature of the problem and the goals of the coaching. Some clients have a very specific problem that can be worked through in a set course of coaching. For others, coaching is an on-going learning process and they choose to receive coaching for a longer period. Clients are generally pleased with their goals within the first three months.
Do you see men, women or both? I will be working with women only as a coach. Since my full-time ministry work is with women, that’s the population where I think that I can make the greatest contribution.
Do you see clients who live out of town? Yes! Thanks to technology like FaceTime and Skype, online coaching sessions are available, schedule permitting. Reiso Resource billing polices still apply. Online coaching sessions can be scheduled the same way as a traditional face-to-face appointments.
Do you diagnose?
Reiso Resources, LLC and the services of the life coaches do not diagnose, nor do they treat mental and emotional disorders. Should those needs surface in the course of a coaching relationship, a referral is made.
