Barb Roose

Leadership Speaker & Coach

Helping Leaders Lead with Clarity, Courage, & Less Unnecessary Stress.

Leadership is rewarding. You also know that it be exhausting.

The decisions. The people. The competing priorities. The hard conversations. The pressure to keep everything moving while wondering how long you can keep moving, too.

I'm known for helping leaders navigate the very real human side of leadership so that they can lead effectively without carrying what was never theirs to carry.

As a nationally recognized speaker, author, and leadership coach, I bring more than 25 years of experience working with leaders in corporate, nonprofit, ministry, and small-business environments.

My leadership work combines practical tools, time-tested wisdom, and a healthy dose of real life.

In my experience, leadership isn't just about getting more done.

Leading well means becoming the kind of leader people can trust and the kind of person who can sustain the life you're leading.

By far one of the best educational sessions our team has ever participated in. Barb was very engaging, dynamic and very personable and make you feel very comfortable to participate openly. Barb presented concepts that our team uses each day and we are definitely seeing a difference.

Barb spoke at our HR Conference with both men & women in the audience on the topic of personal leadership. Barb instantly created a connection with our leaders with her credibility & authenticity. They loved the content she presented, the conversations she provoked, and her delivery style.

Barb made the biggest impact of any speaker at our full-day conference. She was able to connect with our audience of young professionals in a dynamic way and months later, they are still talking about her!"

Barb's Leadership Focus

LEAD WITH CLARITY

I'm known for helping leaders slow down long enough to separate what's truly important from what's simply loud, urgent, or someone else's problem so they can make better decisions without overthinking everything.

LEAD WITH COURAGE

Leadership gets messy when we're more worried about being liked, getting it perfect, or avoiding discomfort than doing what leadership requires. I help leaders recognize when fear, comparison, and people-pleasing are driving the bus and find the courage to say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done.

LEAD WITH HEALTHY BOUNDARIES

Leaders can care deeply about their people without taking responsibility for everything their people feel, need, or do. I help leaders understand what's in their control, choose when to respond rather than react, and communicate boundaries in ways that protect both relationships and capacity.

Barb's Presentation Topics

KEEPING STRESS FROM MAKING A MESS OF YOUR LEADERSHIP & RELATIONSHIPS

Stress doesn't stay neatly contained in our personal lives. It shows up in our decisions, communication, relationships, and leadership. This practical session helps leaders recognize how stress can affect the way they lead and gives them tools to respond differently.

THAT SHOULD HAVE STAYED AS A DRAFT

Not every email needs to be sent, every conflict confronted, or every frustration answered in the moment. Grounded in the principle “Our response is our responsibility,” this practical session helps leaders recognize what is and isn't in their control and set healthy boundaries without setting themselves on fire to keep someone else warm. Leaders will also learn why sometimes the healthiest leadership move is to step back rather than jumping in.

THE MAGICAL MOMENTUM OF RISK

If the biggest risk you've tried lately is changing your Zoom background, then it's time to shake things up! Join Barb Roose to explore how saying "yes"  to the unlikely, intimidating, and uncomfortable lays the groundwork for you to make a lasting and positive impact in your life and others.
