WINNING THE WORRY BATTLE

BIG IDEA: The difference between worry and worship is Who you’re talking to.

Key Scripture: Joshua 1, Matthew 26:39-42

1. What reminder did you need to hear from this message? Or, what was something you wrote down in your notes.

2. As we read through Joshua 1 and God’s instructions to Joshua, what verses encouraged you?

3. Why do we beat ourselves up or judge others for struggling with anxiety? How do you feel knowing that Jesus also felt the intensity of stress like we do?

4. What is one thought you need to remember or action step that you need to take as a result of this session?

TAKING YOUR STRESS TO GOD

BIG IDEA: We need to take our stress to God instead of taking it out on others.

Key Scripture: 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

  1. What’s feels overwhelming for you lately?
  2. Reflect on Barb’s balloon exercise. How big would your balloon be? What types of stress would be filling it up?
  3. Review 2 Corinthians 103-5. Barb read a list of potential strongholds that cause stress. Which ones resonated with you and how have those strongholds contributed to your chronic stress?
  4. Barb highlighted the danger of allowing unaddressed chronic stress and the threat to our relationships. What does Satan want us to confuse?
  5. What takeaway do you want to remember from this message?

TAKING CARE OF YOU

BIG IDEA:  A woman that CARES lives for the glory of God, to be a benefit of others and to be a blessing to herself.

Key Scripture: 1 Peter 5:7

  1. Why do you think so many women take care of everyone else before taking care of themselves?
  2. What makes you feel guilty about taking care of yourself.
  3. The acronym C.A.R.E.S stands for Clothing, Appetite, Rest, Exercise, and Smile. Which one(s) did you sense God prompting you to consider or which ones do you absolutely need to address?

THE POWER OF SURRENDER

BIG IDEA: God, I can’t. But You Can. I will let You. Amen.

Key Scripture: Matthew 4

1. On a scale of 1-10, how much do you struggle with not having control over others or outcomes.

2. Why are we afraid to let go of control?

3. Why does God want us to let go of what we’re trying to control and live like Jesus?

3. What verses from Barb’s talk encouraged your heart to trust God more?

4. What is it that God is calling you to surrender?
